Misfits show they belong in top division
Misfits, who claimed premier division two honours last season, were indebted to Carrie Wayman – who donned the shooter bib and thrived out of position – to lead her side to a hard-fought 32-31 success.
Early pacesetters in the division are Teamforce who stormed into top spot with a 60-27 victory over Gems.

Great defence, court play and shooting won the day for Angels, although Jodie Jones impressed for Stars – covering two positions.
Reigning champions Stars 1 began the defence of their title with a surprise 36-27 reverse at the hands of Wrong Direction, who did well to maintain a lead throughout the contest.
In premier division two, an impressive third-quarter showing paved the way for Trojan to beat Skywatch 37-26.

Hide AdPromoted outfit Westowen pushed Scorpios – relegated from premier division one last term – all the way but came up just short in a 37-35 loss.
Jo Huntley was dominant in defence for Westowen but her eye-catching display was unable to bring a victory to the side.
Cowplain Cruisers’ new kit seemed to bring them some good luck as they beat recently-promoted Magics 42-23 to move to the top of the table.

Elsewhere, Dolphins beat Junction 40-34 with super shooting from newcomer Chris Allen and Blueberries played their part in a well-contested game in their new division as they were held to a 31-31 draw at Cartek.
In division two, Zest beat Jelly Tots 42-31 and Teamforce 2 enjoyed a comfortable 39-15 win against Passion.
Hard-working Jelly Beans saw off Fusion 39-26 and 10th Hole Tigers just claimed a losing point in their game against JPC as it finished 32-16.

Hide AdIn division three, Cocktails were strong from the off as they beat Springers Right 53-22 and table-toppers Hornets impressed all over in a 56-7 win over Westowen Reds.
Purbrook Poppies carried on their winning streak after completing an unbeaten division four campaign last time out to defeat Pebbles 34-26 and Springers Left were also victorious, winning 23-14 against Flames.
In division four, new team Westowen Hotshots beat five-player Chameleons 47-11 with a strong defence and attack and Purbrook Petals showed no mercy to their club members Polka dots as they beat them 49-15.
Six-player Woodmancote were outstanding as they beat Abar Tigers 31-22 but Dragons, also playing with six, lost out to Purple Chaos 29-26 in a game that could have gone either way.
