Man released on bail after the stabbing of a 15-year-old boy in Southsea

As reported, two air ambulances and dozens of police officers were called to the naval memorial at 9pm on Monday (July 19), after a boy was stabbed in the chest.
The teenager suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Southampton General Hospital.

Hide AdPolice have today confirmed the victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.
A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man from Southsea were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Now the 18-year-old has been released, while the 17-year-old remains in custody.
A spokesman for Hampshire police said: ‘The 18-year-old man has been released on conditional police bail – his bail date is August 18.
‘The 17-year-old boy remains in police custody today.’

Hide AdIn the day following the attack police were seen guarding the scene, and the memorial was cordoned off.
It has since re-opened.
