Delays build on A27 diversion routes due to M27 weekend closure
The M27 is currently shut in both directions between junction 11, for Fareham and Gosport, and junction 9, at Whiteley, to install the new North Fareham footbridge as part of the ongoing work to transform it into a smart motorway.
Delays are currently building on the A27 diversion routes and traffic is slow on the motorway on the approach to the junctions.

There also reports of heavy traffic north of the motorway, near Wickham, Bishop’s Waltham, Shedfield and Botley.
The motorway will reopen at 6am on Monday, September 7.
A statement on Highways England;s website: ‘ The bridge installation is taking place overnight, as we need to install the footbridge as quickly and safely as possible.
‘There is less traffic at night, which allows us to close the motorway with reduced impact for the travelling public, and we need to work through the night in order to allow us to re-open the motorway, as soon as the installation is complete.
