What they said about Portsmouth's 2-1 win at Scunthorpe
Here's what some key figures had to say about a win that takes the Blues four points clear at the top of the table.
Manager Kenny Jackett
I felt we looked a good team and deserved the win. Obviously when they got one back, they had a succession of free-kicks and they’re a big team, and you know the ball’s coming into your box. But we defended it very well. In the end it was a good offensive display and a good defensive display. In the second half we had a number of good chances. Going forward, you cansee the confidence growing.

Hide AdPompey were cruising, then were made to hang on, but that Scunthorpe hoodoo is finally over. Gareth Evans and Tom Naylor established a 2-0 lead which could have been added early in the second half. But when Lee Novak pulled one back, the match focused on Kenny Jackett’s men’s defensive resilience. The League One leaders, stood admirably firm for another away win.
Goalscorer Tom Naylor
We were comfortable in the first half, we should have scored more goals, but I thought we defended brilliantly from back to front. For their goal, I was speaking to Craig (MacGillivray) after the game, the flight of the ball was moving and he tried to flick it away and it dropped to them and they scored. After that I thought we defended well, the reaction was good and we got the three points. That’s what happens in League One when a team gets a goal back and Scunthorpe is a hard place to come, we’ll take that, our confidence is flying, everyone is buzzing after three points. It could have been a lot more for us and we will go again on Tuesday.
