2. Armed Forces Day
Residents are invited to salute Portsmouth's armed forces community with an action-packed day on Southsea Common to mark Armed Forces Day on Saturday, June 17 from 10am to 4pm. It will feature a parade of serving members of the armed forces, a parachute display, performances from the Rose and Thistle Pipe Band, a cannon and musketry display from Fort Cumberland Guard and a Battle of Britain memorial spitfire flyover. 3. Southsea Food Festival
The annual Southsea Food Festival returns on July15 and 16, taking over Palmerston, Clarendon and Osborne Roads, as well as Avenue de Caen. There will be scores of food and drink stalls to try, whether you want to sample something on the go or take the ingredients home and have a go yourself! A whole host of local restaurants and businesses will be displaying their wares. 4. Race for Life
A weekend of fun and fundraising will take place on July 1 and 2 to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. The 'Pretty Muddy' 5k event will take place on July 1 leaving from Southsea Common featuring a number of fun obstacles for participants to navigate. The standard 5k event takes place on July 2.
