FIRMS from across the Portsmouth region will have the chance to pitch for contracts worth millions at a business matchmaking day.
Meet the Buyer, which last year triggered deals worth more than £6m, is returning to the Ageas Bowl in West End under the management of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce.
The matchmaking day, to take place on October 22, brings procurement officers from the public and private sectors face-to-face with local suppliers.
The range of activities that this year’s buyers are looking for help with stretches from advanced engineering and architecture to waste management and web design.
Suppliers have the chance to arrange one-to-one meetings with potential sales targets thanks to intuitive software that matches them with relevant buyers.
Chamber of commerce chief executive Stewart Dunn said the event offered an opportunity for small businesses to get to know larger firms.
Mr Dunn said: ‘Meet the Buyer has a proven track record of supporting the supply chains in a diverse range of sectors. It’s an ideal chance for small and medium sized businesses across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to meet major buyers in person on the same day in the same place.
‘For procurement teams, it is an easy, direct way to source competitive deals on the essential products and services they need for their organisations.’
Meet the Buyer has been coordinated by the chamber of commerce for the past three years with funding from local councils across Hampshire.
This year the event’s supporters include Solent Growth Hub, Portsmouth City Council, Havant Borough Council, Winchester City Council and Test Valley Borough Council.
Other supporters include Gosport Borough Council, New Forest District Council, Eastleigh Borough Council and Southampton City Council.
