NEW shops have been signing on the dotted line to move into Cascades Shopping Centre.
It has suffered in recent years after the opening of Gunwharf Quays and council plans to redevelop the Northern Quarter area around Cascades.
The recession has also had a major impact on the occupancy levels.
But cut-price fashion giant Primark has expanded its presence, moving into the former Woolworth’s store next door.
Cascades’ agent Colliers International has also let a unit to clothing chain Internacionale.
Other new arrivals include Boswells, Monsoon, gift shop Giggles, costume jewellers Sparkles, Blossom’s Beauty shop and Brunel News.
Colliers International retail agency director Richard Saunders said: ‘It’s very encouraging to see some of these major retailers committing to the centre, drawn by the high occupancy levels and strong footfall.’
