THE Lady Mayoress of Portsmouth joined an Olympic Torch bearer in launching a hair salon’s charity drive.
Cathy Holc-Thompson and Lady Mayoress Patricia Jonas visited Debenhams in Commercial Road for an event hosted by Regis Salons, where they are both regular customers.
The stylists have been cutting and colouring hair for free in the window of the Commercial Road store in an push to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Customers were invited to take part in a raffle yesterday and today will again have the chance to win a range of prizes up until 4pm.
Style director Stephen Guest said: ‘We’re aiming to raise around £500 and so far the atmosphere has been buzzing.
‘It’s great to raise money for such a good cause just doing what you love.’
