Accountants doubles in sizeÂ

AN ACCOUNTANCY firm has doubled in size after taking over an accountanct and bookkeeper in Lee-on-the-Solent.Â

SHMS Accountants, a firm of small business accountants in Park Gate that started in 1998, has acquired all accounting clients previously taken on by Alan Sanders, who has retired. 

This has meant SHMS has more than doubled in size, going from 400 clients to more than 800 and taking on new staff in the process. Two new bookkeepers have been hired with other positions being advertised for.

Accountants director Stephen Humphreys said: '˜I'm excited about acquiring new clients from Alan, because we can now increase our staff numbers and provide a better service to our current clients and the new ones.

'˜Increasing our staff numbers means we can give all our clients a dedicated manager and ensure there is one point of contact.'Â
