All at sea for Lucy

POINTING out porpoises is all part of the day job for 29-year-old Lucy McLeod.

Lucy, from Portsmouth, works as a wildlife officer on board Brittany Ferries Cap Finistère, sailing between Portsmouth and Spain, with whale and dolphin charity, ORCA.

As part of her role Lucy will work as part of the crew helping passengers see one of the many cetaceans such as fin whales, sperm whales, Cuvier’s beaked whales, striped dolphins and bottlenose dolphins.

She will also be instructing trainee’s as part of the new residential Marine Wildlife Guide Experience courses.

She said: ‘I am really looking forward to meeting the new trainee officers and helping them develop their skills. I’m also looking forward to seeing my favourite cetacean species – pilot whales.’
