Announcement about opening of new M&S store in Havant

DETAILS of the opening of a multi-million pound retail development have been announced.

A full council meeting at Havant Borough Council heard that the new Next store, in Solent Road, Havant, is due to open on April 28.

And Marks & Spencer is due to open at the end of June.

Councillor David Guest, who sits on the cabinet at the authority, told the meeting: ‘The M&S store will open at the end of June. That’s because of delays caused by changes brought about by M&S. The work is virtually complete over there.’

The developments are part of Solent Retail Park, which is expanding westwards.

Next is moving into larger premises from the older part of the retail park. The current Next store is due to become a Mothercare. Cllr Guest also announced the Meridian Centre in Havant is under new ownership. He said: ‘I have met with the new owner. There are some exciting proposals for that building. I’m thrilled to bits that Havant is looking onwards and upwards.’
