PLANS have been submitted by Wickham Laboratories for a new science park.

The Gosport company submitted the application to Gosport Borough Council for four new three-storey buildings on Barwell Lane, next to its headquarters.

As part of the development there will also be 222 additional parking spaces and 74 cycle spaces. Within the application, it said the type of use for the new buildings will be office space and research and development floor space.

The Design and Access statement said: ‘The available accommodation is to encourage start-up and expanding organisations, along with the potential for multinational businesses to relocate to Gosport.

‘While Wickham Laboratories operates in the pharmaceutical industry, the new science park aims to attract various sectors including bioscience, healthcare, food security and diverse scientific research programmes.’
