BUSINESSES are being invited to apply for grants of £7,000.

Gosport Borough Council and its Town Team are launching the previously-announced empty unit support scheme on Monday.

As reported, the scheme offers new and existing firms the chance to move into empty shops in High Street, North Cross Street or Bemisters Lane.

Successful firms get the grant, for interior and exterior fitting, 10 per cent off solicitors’ fees and accountants.

It aims to open five units in the town. The scheme is open from July 15 to August 9, see for more.
