£380,000 investment for Chichester pub

A city pub currently under a £380,000 refurbishment is set to be taken over by a new publican.

Danielle Robinson, 32, will be the new licensee of the Four Chesnuts at Oving Road when it reopens at the end of the month.

Danielle, who comes from Croydon, decided to become the publican at the pub after a visit to Chichester.

She said: ‘I came on a shopping trip to Chichester and immediately fell in love with the city.

‘I have worked in the pub trade for several years but the Four Chesnuts will be the first with my name over the door.

‘It is in a great location and has plenty of potential. I’m really looking forward to when we re-open so my partner Evan and I can get to know all the locals.’

The investment, by pub company Punch, has created six new jobs, with one of the first to sign up being Danielle’s niece, Hannah Kinsella.

The project includes a complete redecoration throughout with a new bar being relocated to provide a better use of the space.

The Four Chesnuts will re-open to the public on Thursday 23 March.
