Arts group launches magazine in Fareham

AN ARTS magazine has been launched to focus on talent and on making art accessible to everybody.

South Central has been created by Live Art Local, a community group that campaigns for art in Fareham.

The magazine will celebrate the arts from film to literature.

Beth Davis-Hofbauer, director of Live Art Local, said: ‘It is the first magazine to publish an art map for our region.

‘We really want to make people more aware of the arts using our map of events.’

Ms Davis-Hofbauer, from Fareham, was delighted with the outcome of the launch night last month.

She said: ‘It was amazing, we were really shocked. There was a lot of support from the arts and culture industry at the launch night, many of whom have expressed an interest in contributing to the magazine’s content.’

Live Art Local will be holding an exhibition at the Sticks Gallery in Fareham Shopping Centre in May by emerging artist Jenny Jane Tipton.
