AS The News Business Excellence Awards are fast approaching, we’ve spoken to a returning sponsor and former winner about this year’s ceremony.

Managing Director of Portsmouth-based law firm Verisona Law, Sue Ball has said that, whether you’re a sponsor, nominee or participant, the ceremony is a great opportunity to boost your profile.

Verisona Law has sponsored the award show for four years and Sue has attended three of the ceremonies.

Sue said: ‘We are proud to be part of the business community and therefore very happy to be involved as a sponsor at this years Business Excellence Awards.

‘For the last few years we have booked a table at the ceremony for our team.

‘It’s a fantastic opportunity because you bump into lots of clients and lots of potential clients.

‘Not only that, but you get to meet some of the most fabulous businesses that you wouldn’t get the chance to meet if it weren’t for these types of events.’

Sue explained that being a judge as well as a sponsor gives her firm an insight into business in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

‘Some of these firms have long lists of “big name” clients. You might read about larger companies in the estate agents or car section of the paper each week but this type of event reveals some of the hidden gems of Portsmouth. There is a whole host of talent in our city.’

Sue said: ‘The awards help boost your profile and give you a fantastic platform to tell people what you do and, legitimately, how good you are.’
