IT’S that time of year again – The News Business Excellence Awards are back.
Firms big and small are being encouraged to get involved and send in nominations as we prepare to recognise the businesses and individuals who have been so successful over the past 12 months.
There are 16 different categories, covering all types of businesses including Innovation of the Year, Employer of the Year and Team of the Year, as well as the Overall Business of the Year.
All nominees will be invited to a glitzy ceremony at Portsmouth Guildhall on Friday, February 12, 2016. Mark Waldron, editor of The News, said: ‘This is always an exciting time for us. The News Business Excellence Awards are one of the highlights of the year for us.
‘We enjoy recognising those companies which have been so successful over the past year.
‘I would encourage everyone involved with businesses across the area to nominate those who you think are worthy of an award and help make these awards the best yet.’
A spokeswoman for BAE Systems, which is sponsoring the awards, said: ‘BAE Systems is the proud sponsor for The News Business Awards in 2016.
‘It’s a privilege that underlines our commitment to supporting the success of Portsmouth and the Solent region in which we have an enduring commitment.
‘The event is one of the highlights of the business calendar in the region as it is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to come together and celebrate success.
‘BAE Systems prides itself on playing an active role in the local communities in which we operate, and being part of the business community here in Portsmouth is something that is really important to us.
‘In recent years, the quality of nominations has been remarkable and it demonstrates the innovation and determination of the people behind the businesses that make Portsmouth a great place to live and work.
‘We would like to wish all entrants the best of luck in the awards.’
