OPEN evenings are being held to promote vacancies at BAE Systems.

In total there are 69 apprenticeship positions with BAE Systems at the Portsmouth Naval Base.

The open evenings for young people to find out more are being held in Action Stations, in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, on Tuesday, January 20, and Wednesday, January 21, between 4pm and 8pm.

There are three schemes available – engineering technician apprenticeship, craft apprenticeship and a new higher apprenticeship in project management.

Gary Morrison, a second year engineering technician apprentice at BAE Systems, said: ‘I’m excited to be part of the team organising the apprenticeship open evenings, for me an apprenticeship is the best way to learn.’
