Bank's cash to help give dinners to homeless

A BANK has donated £125 to help provide hot Christmas dinners for those in need.

The donation is part of a nationwide community pride donation programme by Lloyds TSB, to help local causes that bring communities together, or need a little extra support during the festive season.

In total, TSB will be donating more than £47,000 through the programme to causes across Britain.

Katy Stacy, bank manager in Portsmouth, said: ‘Being part of our local community is really important to us at TSB and so we’re delighted to be able to help Lifehouse with this donation.

‘We chose to donate this money to Lifehouse because of the important work it does to support the homeless and those in need in our local community.’

Portsmouth TSB picked the Lifehouse – a resource, support centre and soup kitchen in Albert Road, Southsea – as its ‘charity of the year’.

Each year, customers and staff can nominate a charity that they would like their local TSB to support.
