A MUCH-NEEDED sponsor has given an amateur boxing club a chance to improve its equipment.

Steve Willis Training Centres, in Portchester, has given the City of
Portsmouth Amateur
Boxing Club a £1,000 cash injection.

The firm’s managing director Steve Willis said: ‘I am delighted to be able to help fund this local club; it’s great that the kids have somewhere they can go and have fun, channel their energies and stay off the streets’.

The club serves the local communities of north Portsmouth and sustains its momentum thanks to the trained coaches and volunteers.

The club’s assistant coach Simon Veal said: ‘This
will make a real difference to us.

‘It’s commendable that a local company can see the benefits of our club and are willing to support us.’
