UPHAM Brewery in Bishop’s Waltham has been named as a runner-up in the Farm Produce Awards, a national competition run by the Great British Food Magazine.

The brewery’s popular Punter ale was selected by a panel of judges in the bottled beer category.

It was the inaugural year of the awards, which celebrate the very best in British produce and saw entries from more than 300 food and drinks producers from both established and fledgling brands across 14 different categories.

Since officially launching its brewery in 2013, Upham already supplies 250 stockists in both cask and bottles,

Speaking about the awards, Faye Pain, sales and trade marketing manager, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to have our best-selling ale, Punter, recognised in these awards where it was up against some of the very best ales in the market.

‘Upham Brewery is passionate about celebrating quality British produce and we hope the overall Awards and individual recognition will help to further promote all the entries to new customers.’
