Around 20,250 people are suffering from these devastating conditions in the local area.

Neil Jarret, BHF fundraising manager for Hampshire, said: ‘Too many lives are lost in Portsmouth each year, and we’re determined to do everything we can to protect more families from this devastation.

‘By starting up a fundraising group you can help us fund the research that’s so desperately needed to bring us closer to beating heart disease.’

Heart and circulatory problems affect a wide range of people, from babies to adults.

Fundraising groups are the main way the BHF represents itself in local communities. To start a new group, contact Neil Jarret on 07879 480835 or email [email protected].
