Budding apprentices offered a stepping stone

YOUNG people looking to go into an apprenticeship are being given the chance to hit the ground running.

The traineeship scheme, being run by the Care Learning Centre in Hampshire, is a six-month course that gives students a taste of work experience and job skills they will need in their chosen industry.

The courses have the potential to open up apprenticeship and employment opportunities for participants.

Emma Carpenter, training adviser at the Care Learning Centre, said: ‘It is hard for young people to get experience, particularly if they are not sure what they want to do.

‘This programme enables them to try high-quality work experience.

‘We want employers to understand the benefits of taking on these young people, it is of no cost to the employer and the trainees themselves will receive support from us.’
