BUS services are being withdrawn as major work starts on building a pipe to prevent future flooding.

Buses will not call at Hambledon from Monday until further notice.

First’s services X9 to Portsmouth and 145 to Havant and Emsworth will start and finish at Denmead Green instead of Hambledon.

However, Hampshire County Council has organised a shuttle service from Hambledon for people which will connect with certain Service X9 and 145 journeys in Denmead.

Dervla McKay, general manager at First Solent, said: ‘We hope the shuttle bus service will meet the needs of local people while the work is carried out.’
