Synergy Success Network was set up by Gethin Jones and Mark Legg with the aim of helping businesses to scale up. Both Gethin and Mark have overcome adversity to be successful in business – and they say they now want to inspire others to do the same.

Ex-offender Gethin now runs social enterprise Unlocking Potential and Mark left school aged 14 but now runs CDM Contractors.

It held its first meeting in January and saw such success that another networking meeting was held last month at the Marriott Hotel in Portsmouth

More than 100 people came along to the night, which saw guest speakers and bug-eating challenges.

Ricki Scott, brand ambassador, said: ‘We simply want to shout from the roof tops about the event and all the exciting stuff coming from Synergy. The mood and vibe of the evening was fabulous!

‘The hype that came from the launch event meant we were able to fill a room double the size. We had a jam-packed evening with live music, a magician, a chocolate fountain, various expo stands and three special guests.

‘I also sprung a challenge on both Mark and Gethin to invite them to eat a bowl of bugs, this was centred around the concept of stepping outside your comfort zone which people do when going into business or attending networking events.’

The network has created a training course aimed at budding entrepreneurs, especially those in construction, based on Mark’s new book –The Business Builder, how to plan, develop and build a seven figure trades business and another networking event is being planned for this summer.

Ricki added: ‘It is exciting times for Synergy.’
