THE entrepreneur behind a popular board game is encouraging local businesses to feature in a special edition to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Companies keen to sponsor the game will feature on the board game Destination Portsmouth.
I am very proud of everything that has been achievedRachel Lowe
The award-winning game sees players compete to race through the streets of the city in a minicab and was set-up by ex-taxi driver Rachel Lowe.
She said: ‘When we launched the original version of Destination Portsmouth 10 years ago, we had a wealth of fantastic businesses and attractions feature on the board.
‘Portsmouth is the edition I am most proud of because Portsmouth is my home town and I have had so much support from people.
‘Without them I would never have been able to raise the money to get the game produced in the first place.
‘Now that so much time has passed we want to celebrate the success of the game alongside the existing local businesses and get them involved in what we’d like to be an honest representation of the local area.’
Rachel, 37, from Copnor, added: ‘I’m very proud of everything that has been achieved.
‘There are lots of new places that have opened up in the last 10 years that would be great to feature in the game.’
Destination London later launched successfully despite being rejected for investment on BBC’s Dragon’s Den.
The game has since then been developed into several other formats including a range of regional versions such as Destination Great Britain and Downton Abbey.
Additionally, Rachel featured as a board game expert on the BBC’s The Apprentice: You’re Fired.
