Call for businesses to give farmers a fairer trade deal

CAFES are being urged to take Fairtrade products.

Portsmouth Fairtrade Forum are visiting cafes in the city.

Sue James, from the group, said the other products barely give farmers enough to live on.

A statement from the group said: ‘Fairtrade changes this.

‘It means a good deal for producers who get a fair price and money to help with community projects.

‘So companies which switch to products with the Fairtrade mark will be improving the lives of the farmers and workers.’
