CAMERAS are being used to tackle fly-tipping.

It comes after figures revealed there were 923 incidents in Portsmouth in 2014/15 with a £44,547 clear-up cost and £106,146 in enforcement costs.

Portsmouth City Council is using cameras in hotspots, educating residents and investigating incidents. A spokeswoman said the council is trying to respond more promptly.
