Campaign for Real Ale bottled beer contest to be judged at BBC Good Food show

THE Campaign for Real Ale's Bottled Beer of Britain competition will be judged and announced for the first time at the BBC Good Food Show.

To mark the occasion, Camra has teamed up with the UK’s leading online beer retailer Beer Hawk to offer tutored tastings with industry experts every day of the Good Food Show on November 24.

The Great British Beer Tasting Experience will give attendees the chance to sample some of the award-winning beers, explore new tastes, learn about the art of brewing and gain an insight into the diversity of real ale.

The Champion Bottled Beer of Britain judging will take place on the first day of the Good Food Show at an event open to all attendees.

Tickets are available on the door and in advance.

The Champion Bottled Beer of Britain Award is celebrating its 25th anniversary of recognising the best example of real ale in a bottle, as selected by a panel of beer experts.

The final competition and judging follows a series of local member voting rounds and regional judging competitions throughout the year.

Camra’s national director, Nick Boley, responsible for the competition, said: ‘We’re delighted that the Champion Bottled Beer of Britain Award will be hosted at the BBC Good Food Show this year, giving more people the opportunity to come and learn about beer tasting and experience some of the best bottled beers the UK has to offer. To win the award demonstrates a high level of creativity and ingenuity in the brewing process and is considered one of the highest achievement in the beer world.’
