Care home opens and brings in first residents

The Fernes Care Home in Samuel Mortimer Close, Fareham opened its doors last week.

Marlene Long, one of the residents said: ‘I was worried about moving but everything was all sorted without problems.’

Catherine Bezer, general manager, said: ‘I look forward to meeting more new residents, getting to know them and hearing about their lives.’

The 52-bed care home, which is owned by Barchester Healthcare, is holding an official opening on Wednesday, September 21.
