FLY-TIPPED rubbish that was blocking a Southsea pavement has been removed.

A discarded roll of carpet had been left covering half of the pavement in St Augustine Road.

It was reported to local Lib Dem councillors by a resident who witnessed a blind person struggling to get past.

Yesterday councillors Lee Hunt, Suzy Horton and Steve Pitt said they had worked to get it cleared quickly.
