THE chief executive of the
Hampshire Chamber of Commerce has called on leaders of political parties in the area to support the local economy.
Following the results of this year’s local council elections, Stewart Dunn said: ‘The local election results herald what is likely to be a very interesting next 12 months before the general election.
‘We call on the elected leaders of whatever party to remember that the economic recovery remains fragile and there is a clear need for consistency in regional business policy such as continuing support for local enterprise partnerships.
‘A very close eye has to be kept on both the housing market and interest rates so we don’t end up derailing confidence and choking off growth.’
