The developer, which is building in Gosport and Waterlooville, gave the cash to go towards the costs of building a new clubhouse at the Kendall Stadium.

David MacAskill, sponsorship manager for Baffins Milton Rovers FC, said: ‘We’re a real community club which initially started out 10 years ago as dads and sons playing together.

‘The club has been very successful over the past three or four years, so our goal now is to move up the non-league pyramid and to do that we need to improve the facilities at our ground, so we’re working towards building a clubhouse that can accommodate more supporters.’

The club wants to install a covered stand, more car parking facilities, changing rooms, a bar, toilets and kitchen.
