Nick, director, said: '˜The greatest challenge in the 21st century is powering the planet, while at the same time drastically reducing the amount of carbon emissions and continuing to battle the increase in energy costs. This is the challenge that Salvis aims to help fight.'

The firm, which took its name from the latin word for save, helps businesses make operational efficiencies that save money, reduce energy consumption and lower carbon emissions, while improving the working environment for staff and visitors.

Nick said: '˜With TV shows like Blue Planet highlighting the significant impact that our modern way of life is having on the environment, and the continuous increase in utility costs, we are finding an increasing number of businesses wanting to do their bit to make a difference to the environment, whilst also improving their financial position.

'˜From checking the accuracy of utility bills through to project managing major capital works, Salvis's aim is to ensure that all businesses operate as efficiently as possible and meet their own objectives while minimising the impact on the environment.'

Salvis has helped NHS Trusts to recover errors on their energy bills going back over the last six years, totalling £100,000s.

The company is also working with a local NHS Trust to reduce its electricity bills by £190,000 a year by replacing their exiting lighting with more efficient LED.

Salvis has also undertaken the design of a number of new build construction projects, such as the new music and arts block at Portsmouth Academy for Portsmouth City Council, which included low carbon heating technology. It also designed a replacement heating system for Cumberland Infants School.
