Portsmouth branch of Oak Furnitureland in Ocean Retail Park in Burrfields Road is set to close - here's the full closure list

Yesterday the chain said that it was looking at closing 27 showrooms, putting 163 jobs at risk.

The full list has now been revealed and the Portsmouth branch, which is in Ocean Retail Park in Burrfields Road, Copnor, is on list.

The others are Basingstoke, Brent Cross, Burnley, Derry, Durham, Enfield, Guildford, Huddersfield, Leeds Crown Point, Macclesfield, Merry Hill, New Malden, Romford, Rotherham, Rugby, Slough, Southend on Sea, Stafford, Sutton in Ashfield, Wallasey, Weston-super-Mare and Wrexham, as well as clearance outlets at Bath, Chippenham, Cardiff, and Cumbernauld.

Yesterday Oak Furnitureland chief executive officer Alex Fisher said: ‘The current proposal to close some showrooms forms part of a company-wide review that we are undertaking as a business. We are committed to driving forward a plan for our future growth, and although this has been a difficult decision, it is the right one for the business in these uniquely challenging times.’
