ANOTHER well-known Cosham building will soon be reduced to rubble.
The Railway pub, in Cosham High Street, is in the process of being demolished just yards from the remains of the Carlton Cinema, which was knocked down earlier this year.
Portsmouth Demolition is carrying out the work on behalf of city property developer PMC Construction, based in Queens Road, Buckland.
A spokeswoman for the firm said no decision has been taken on what will replace The Railway, but former regulars have voiced concerns that so many local pubs have recently been closed down.
Richard Blake, 70, from Paulsgrove, said: ‘No doubt it will be another block of flats.
‘They’ve knocked down all the old businesses and I think it’s a real shame.’
