ARTISTIC Amanda Fowler’s craft skills and business acumen have won her a foreign holiday.
The 47-year-old was delighted to find out that she had won a trip to Madeira for a week after she won a competition through her work.
It was a lovely reward for doing such a fantastic job.
Amanda bagged the trip by accumulating points by selling rubber stamps made by Stampin’ Up at her craft classes, held once a month in Locks Heath.
And it’s not the first taste of success for Amanda – two years ago she won a trip to Salt Lake City, capital of U.S. State Utah.
This trip was even more special as it is the home of the rubber stamp company and she got to see the stamps in production.
Amanda got a full tour of the building and said she loved every minute of it.
Amanda, of Ingleside Close, Fareham, said: ‘It was a lovely reward for doing such a fantastic job.’
Amanda went on her latest free holiday to Madeira on June 15 and stayed for a week in a hotel with her husband Brian.
They had a great time exploring the island, off-roading, sunbathing and visiting the town of Funchal.
She said: ‘It was an amazing trip.’
Amanda first started getting into stamps 25 years ago when she was doing needle craft.
A few years later she discovered some rubber stamps that had been shipped from America and she was fascinated by them. She got in touch with the company and now has her own craft business called Inspiring Inkin’.
She said: ‘I love how you can create anything from stamps, ink and paper. You can create images for books and many more useful things just from using basic resources.’
Amanda said that paper crafting is growing in popularity, with lots people using the rubber stamps for wedding invitations, letters and greeting cards.
She currently holds classes once a month at St John’s Church Centre, in Church Road, Locks Heath where she teaches people how to use the stamps.
She said: ‘I love the enthusiasm from the people I teach. I hope to continue to do this job for as long as I can’.
