Creative studio gets Gok’s approval

A CREATIVE studio based in Hampshire has been given the celeb seal of approval by fashion guru Gok Wan.

Laurel Designs in Swanwick provided the backdrop to the Olivier Awards at the Royal Albert Hall earlier this month.

The flower wall, which was used as the backdrop to interview VIP guests, was praised by Gok Wan for doing ‘a fabulous job of designing a unique flower wall’.

Founder and owner Carol Slark said: ‘We were so excited and a little overwhelmed at taking on this major high-profile event, which would be televised for all to see.

‘It was fabulous to show off our design skills.

‘I was so proud when Gok even took the time to mention us and our part in it all whilst doing his run through on camera, which was the icing on the cake for me.’

A spokesman from Gok Wan’s events team said: ‘Gok previously worked with the Laurel Designs team, and had no hesitation in recommending them.’
