Based at the Ageas Bowl, the Southern Vipers are led by former England captain Charlotte Edwards and include three England players, three overseas players, and three England Women’s Academy players.
Chief executive Paul Hendy said: ‘We have a long association with cricket in the south and we’re thrilled to be involved at the start of this brand new era in cricket.
‘The Kia Super League has been set up to inspire more women to play cricket at all levels and that’s something we are pleased to support.’
Southern Vipers general manager Bobby Parks said: ‘We look forward to working with them as this exciting new competition develops.’
