BUSINESSES in the Havant area are being invited to meet their local police to find out how to avoid becoming a victim of crime.

The Havant Business Watch event will be taking place at Langstone Technology Park, which is run by the Fasset facilities management firm, on Friday, September 21.

It has been organised jointly between the firm and Hampshire police.

It is the second time the event has been held at the technology park.

Gary Medlow, Fasset’s managing director, said: ‘Fasset is delighted to once again support this event for the local business community after the success of the previous one.

‘We are always keen to stay abreast of new initiatives and improvements.’

Hampshire police has said the main focus of the event, which takes place between 11am and 2pm, will be to promote ways to reduce crime and increase safety.

Exhibitors will include Hampshire police and crime reduction officers; Smartwater, the forensic property marker; CrimeStoppers; the Association of Business Crime Partnership; first aid trainers, accredited community safety officers from Hampshire County Council; Trading Standards representatives; Sold Secure and more.

Mr Medlow also said there will be an opportunity for local businesses to network with each other and talk about some of the issues surrounding business safety.

To attend the event, registration is required and parking is available on request.
