Dedicated Daniel gets top honour for apprenticeship
The cream of Hampshire County Council's apprentices and trainees, as well as the staff who support them, took centre stage at Winchester's Great Hall this month for the council's fourth annual Apprenticeship Awards.
Award categories included Team of the Year, Mentorship, and a special Chairman's Award.

Hide AdDeputy leader and executive lead member for children's services, Councillor Keith Mans, was at the night.
He said: '˜All our nominees have been put forward by their colleagues who want them to be recognised for their hard work and commitment to excellence.
'˜It strikes me that we are extremely lucky to have such a strong cohort of talented and dedicated apprentices working for Hampshire.'Â
Daniel Card, who works at the Corporate Contact Centre in Fareham, was given the Chairman's Award 2018.Â

Hide AdHis manager Diane Fenwick put him forward for the award. Â
She said: '˜He exhibited a fantastic work ethic, using his initiative at every available opportunity. Danny works consistently hard.'Â
 Daniel, 21, from Gosport, said: '˜I am determined to complete my work to all deadlines and to always assist customers to find solutions to their problems.'
He also said that receiving the award was a surprise.
Daniel said: '˜When they called out my name, I was in shock and I had to check it was actually me.'

Hide AdDaniel is wishing to finish his current apprenticeship and a move to full-time role within Hampshire County Council  or take another apprenticeship  at a higher level.Â
Hampshire County Council currently has more than 70 trainees and has signed up more than 100 apprentices since April.Â
