THE bubbly was flowing for a Fareham firm after it announced an increase in turnover and a prestigious contract win.
Worldwide logistics firm PSP, which operates from its base in Segensworth, has been announced as the official logistics partner for the Global Ocean Race 2014-15.
The announcement was made at the Tulett Prebon London Boat Show, and means PSP will be responsible for ensuring all race equipment, including replacement parts for the boats and dehydrated food, reach the four stopovers during the nine-month race.
As reported in yesterday’s News, the race will begin at the Southampton Boat Show in September 2014 and is planned to finish at Gunwharf Quays in June 2015.
Frank Dixie, managing director of PSP, also used the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show to announce an increase in turnover within PSP’s marine division.
He said: ‘This latest win has proven that it is ever upwards for PSP.
‘Not only have we started 2013 with a 10 per cent increase in turnover for our marine division but we’ve also been selected as the official logistics partner for this incredible race.’
As official logistics partner PSP, title sponsor of the PSP Southampton Boat Show, will also be responsible for any emergency logistics throughout the race, such as the urgent delivery of specialist boat parts.
Mr Dixie added: ‘For these competitors, our ability to get a piece of equipment to them anywhere in the world, at the drop of a hat, could be the difference between them winning or losing.’
GOR organiser Josh Hall said: ‘The stopovers for this race will be short so we need a logistics partner that we can rely on for speed, accuracy and efficiency.
‘That’s why we chose PSP, which has a proven track record in delivering impeccable logistics for race teams across the globe.’
As official logistics partner PSP will also be responsible for any emergency logistics throughout the race, such as the urgent delivery of specialist boat parts to the teams wherever they may be.
