East Hampshire council launches scheme for businesses to help in community

BUSINESSES are being encouraged to team up with charities as part of a new scheme.

Launched by East Hampshire District Council, Business Buddies partners firms which want to make a difference in their community with organisations providing vital services.

Petersfield-based technology company Feefo, that helps businesses make better decisions, is the first to sign up to the scheme.

Councillor Richard Millard, council leader, said: '˜The wellbeing of East Hampshire residents is absolutely what we, as a council, are all about.

'˜Staff at the council can take two paid days for volunteer work to get out there, roll up their sleeves and make a difference to our communities.

'˜If we could get businesses and charities working together then we could really start to see the benefits on the ground.

'˜Businesses can offer whatever skills they have from administrative support, fund-raising, marketing expertise to help with IT advice.  '˜
