A MEETING will be held over the future of a Portsmouth pub.

As reported, The Fort Cumberland Arms, in Eastney Road, Eastney, Portsmouth, has been closed since the night before Christmas Eve after being swamped by floodwater.

While some repair work has been done, it’s still not in a good enough condition to be reopened.

Regulars plan to hold a meeting there from 3pm tomorrow in the hope a solution can be found.

Volunteers have mucked in to help clear the place up, and a Save the Fort Cumberland Arms Facebook page has been set up.

Chris Hunt, the pub’s freeholder, has also been working to get the problems sorted and his insurance company has been out to assess costs.

It’s hoped council representatives will attend.
