EU debate topic of business lunch

SHOULD we stay or should we go? That is the destiny question the British people will answer in the ballot box on June 23 in the EU referendum.

Less than four weeks before the historic vote, professionals with an interest in business advisory and restructuring across the south will get a chance to hear more about some of the key issues which will be at the heart of the ‘remain’ or ‘leave’ debate.

The south coast office of Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, investment management and tax group which covers Portsmouth and the surrounding areas, will host its latest Food for Thought lunch club, at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton.

Greg Palfrey, the head of restructuring and recovery at Smith & Williamson, said: ‘The EU – should we stay or should we go? Are there firm facts on which to decide or is it 50 shades of grey? Will it be a purely economic decision or one based on broader issues? There will undoubtedly be a clash of ideologies.

‘We look forward to hearing your views and sharing ours, around areas such as sovereignty, UK contribution, regulation, migration, trade and influence.

‘There will be informal networking, lunch and open discussion, with plenty of food for thought.’
