AN entrepreneur who fought back from redundancy to start her own business as a wine merchant offering tasting events was the guest of honour at a business event.

Janine Pert, originally from Australia, runs Discover Wine in Waterlooville.

She visited the Basepoint Business Centre in the town to talk to its networking hub about how she turned her fortunes around, as well as hosting a wine tasting session for all those who took part.

Brigitte Baker, centre manager at the Basepoint Havant and Waterlooville centre, said: ‘Janine’s presentation was really inspiring and insightful.

‘Unfortunately, the turbulent economy means that a lot of talented and successful people have suffered redundancy, but it’s wonderful to hear that it is possible to come back from that position and pursue new business roles.’
