A CONFERENCE to help businesses cut down on the cost of travel is to be held in Portsmouth.

Firms in the city as well as Havant, Gosport and Fareham will be invited to the event, which will be held in two rooms at the Guildhall on April 8 and is being run in conjunction with the Sustrans organisation.

Keynote speakers, informal workshops and exhibitors will be there to help drive down travel costs, which account for about 10 per cent of small businesses’ annual budget.

The conference will take place between 9am and 1pm.

It is part of a new project that has been funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the South East ERDF Competitiveness Programme.
