BETWEEN 400 and 500 visitors are expected at a first-of-its-kind business event in Portsmouth tomorrow.

Organised by Memo Events, the Portsmouth Business Expo will take place at the Pyramids Centre from 9.30am and will see 73 firms exhibiting their goods and services.

Memo Events is behind the successful Hampshire Business Expo, held annually in Basingstoke.

Its founder, Matthew Larcome, said that around 30 per cent of the expo’s exhibitors were from the Gosport and Portsmouth area, and asked for a similar event to be held in the city.

He added: ‘The event is for all the people who want to find out about starting up a new business.

‘The connections they will need to have will be at the event.

‘It’s about trying to promote businesses in Portsmouth to other businesses.’

There will be a series of seminars running all day, with a focus on prosperity in business.

Keynote speakers Ian Dickson and James Potter have been confirmed for the event.

Entry is free.
