Operations director Mike Payne said: ‘Our objective from the start was to make mortgage finance an easy, stress-free and informative process by going out to businesses and providing our service in an environment people felt comfortable in.

‘We had the idea of trying to help young people, primarily college students, to understand the finance market.

‘We visit colleges and speak to 16 to 17-year-olds regarding the minefield of mortgages, credit files, applying for credit and the effect it can have on a person’s credit file if not managed properly.

‘We give a fun and interesting short workshop on the dos and don’ts of the financial market. This shows what they need to do to get on the property ladder, build better credit and the importance of planning at a young age. We try to give younger people a heads-up before they go into the world of work and have found most appreciate the insight.’

As well as educating teenagers, the firm has been visiting businesses across the area to talk about their services.

The company has a mortgage sourcing facility that can help clients get the most competitive rate on the market.

Mike said: ‘Presently, we’re visiting businesses to offer free on-site mortgage MOTs for employers and employees alike. Through informal consultations we give people a good understanding of mortgage products in easy to understand terms and make sure they are on the most competitive rate.

‘We have found this hugely beneficial to people who do not have the time to look at their current mortgage situation, let alone consider changing it for the better.

‘A lot of people think there is a major cost to looking at their mortgage, and it has come as a surprise to many that we advise for free and do not push people who are in great deals already.’
