A FAREHAM firm has been appointed to the government’s supplier list for cloud computing services.

The initiative enables government departments and public sector organisations to cut IT costs by purchasing products and services from independent suppliers.

The appointment follows a recent announcement that buyers in the public sector should procure computing solutions from the cloud before any other option.

Russ Herringshaw, group sales and marketing director for Cobweb, said: ‘As one of the world’s longest-established cloud communication providers, this appointment recognises our ability to deliver secure, reliable and high-value services to the public sector at a fraction of what they are used to paying.

‘We are delighted to have been appointed to this new initiative which will generate savings for taxpayers and help growth.’
